View Full Version : How do I delete My Built in web-cam Hardware?

You can't delete hardware. You can only delete software. You can remove hardware by physically taking it out of the computer.

However, what you want to do is disable the built in web cam driver.

To disable your integrated webcam, open your Device Manager.
Click on the Imaging devices
Right click on the Webcam device
Select Disable

Do NOT Uninstall
With Uninstall, Windows will just reinstall it during the next reboot.

To re-enable the webcam, repeat the above procedure,
but right click on the webcam device and select Enable.
This will return the webcam to its current state

To permanently disable this, you need to go into your control panel/system/hardware/device manager. Look for your webcam, right click on it and select disable. Then if you want it to run again just go back and select enable.

yeah i wouldnt hit it with a hammer, you might not like the out come in the end haha, i would just disable it...

Or your can disable it by keeping it as it is on it's place. :p, I wonder how people will remove it physically if it is inbuilt with the device like Laptop or Notebook.

Yeah they can give the laptop or notebook to the service station to get it done.. Only people knows the system very well can able to remove the hardware.

Try from device manager tab in your computer. Make sure that hardware correctly installed or not to uninstall.

You can try to delete directly from control panel.It will definitely delete the web-cam hardware.

The simple way is you just go control panel then device manager and disable the web cam hardware.

To uninstall the current driver, play out the accompanying strides:

Tap the Start catch.

Snap Control Panel.

Double tap the System symbol.

Tap the Hardware tab.

Snap Device Manager.

Tap the in addition to (+) sign beside Imaging Devices. ...

Right-click Integrated Webcam, at that point click Uninstall.

Select Hardware and Sound. Choose Device Manager. Select Imaging Devices and double-click on your webcam in the list. Click on the Driver tab and select Disable to disable the webcam.
