A static web page, sometimes called a flat page/stationary page is a web page that is delivered to the user exactly as stored. You can build static web pages with software like DreamWeaver on your computer. Then need to upload the pages to your host’s server using FTP software like FileZilla for example. Every time you will need to change something on your site, you will have to edit the pages on your computer and upload them again. The website never changes by itself. That’s why it’s called a “static” page. Find more information at Web hosting Beginners guide (https://nextpointhost.com/web-hosting/beginners-guide)

Facebook, Google+, YouTube etc., are the Dynamic websites.
Information based can be static sites. In static sites web pages doesn't change, in dynamic website content can change time to time.
A user can communicate with the website using forms, login etc., actions in dynamic site.

A static website or a static web page doesn't deliver any dynamic content from web application, it is an information based websites, it appears as it is whatever the web master uploads.

Static websites can only really be updated by someone with a knowledge of website development. Static websites are the cheapest to develop and host, and many smaller companies still use these to get a web presence.

Static sites are the most basic type of website and are the easiest to create. Unlike dynamic websites, they do not require any Web programming or database design. A static site can be built by simply creating a few HTML pages and publishing them to a Web server.
