The culmination of a childhood dream, Jessie’s Cookies had its beginnings in a retail business in the popular summer resort town of East Hampton, New York. Jessie Herschell, the company’s owner and CEO, left her profession in the health care industry after 18 years to pursue an ambition that she had held dear through all her years growing up in nearby Southampton, NY. During her formative years, Jessie basked in the festive togetherness of her extended family, soaking in the flavors, the aromas and the tastes of the culinary creations served up by expert, loving hands. “The memory of these comfort foods remains very alive in me to this day” she says. “That, and the dream of one day having my own business and sharing these mouthwatering foods with others, just kept calling out to me. So, when in 2001, a bakery business became available, I jumped at the chance and I’ve never looked back.”>>
