Avast is a very good anti-virus software..You have to use it..but regular update it from internet..Your pc contain virus because you are not regularly updating it..and always scan your pendrive when ever you are use it..

either u have to install Eset Smart Security antivirus
this antivirus is best for all threats

Just format your pc..and then install anti-vrus again..
then tell me..what will happen..is it again present in to your pc or washed out
