Every web hosting provider helps their clients in setting up their servers and provides full-time technical support. However, you need to consider the following points after purchasing a VPS or dedicated server:

- The server either it is a VPS or dedicated must have a valid domain name, Reverse DNS, and PTR record.

- It is compulsory to set host and IP-based restrictions for all login panels for security reasons in WHM, SSH, or Plesk. Now, try to use complex passwords and expiration policies. Moreover, don’t forget to disable all unwanted ports and services.

- Recheck and set up your schedule for backup and avoid replications.

- Now you have to configure the email server and maintain a Reverse DNS entry, create an SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record, Enable SMTP authentication and enable users to unsubscribe/ opt-out.

- Enable automatic updates ON and make sure you are using the latest versions of Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

- Set up an automated notification system and keep your customers informed about any scheduled maintenance. Please keep in mind, you will set up non-peak hours.

- Configure LAMP according to your requirements and make sure the server setting supports the CMS (Content Management System) such as WordPress.

- Install firewalls, anti-malware, or other antivirus solutions.
