I think there are no bad effects if you’re careful while engaging with social media platform.

But commonly, bad ways it affects people is :
-It drains out a lot of time and energy which can be productive otherwise. It can really deviate focus.
-It can negatively affect a person’s self esteem who is struggling seeing others endorse their success
-Sometimes, people are prey to bullying on social media channels which can have a negative impact on them.

But, there are a lot of positives too.
-You get to know about products/services that could really add value to your life.
-Watching good videos/ engaging with good content can be inspirational
-It’s a good way to keep in touch with your friends, family and business network.
-Staying abreast with what is happening globally.
