    Default Does pci slots matter?

I want to get a geforce gtx 1070 but it says it supports a pci Express 3.0 and my motherboard has a pci express 2.0. Can I still put the gtx 1070 in it?

A Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) slot is a connecting apparatus for a 32-bit computer bus. These tools are built into the motherboards of computers and devices in order to allow for the addition of PCI devices like modems, network hardware or sound and video cards.

You may have wondered which slot you're supposed to install a graphics card into on a motherboard when there's more than one slot. The graphics card should go into the first PCI Express x16 slot. However, lower slots are usually capable of running the card as well.
