Citation flow means how useful a url can be it is calculated by keeping in mind the number of websites which are linked to that url. If a URL have high citation flow it means it is more useful and can help you in search engine optimization.

Citation Flow is a number of predicting how influential a URL might be based on how many sites link to it. Trust Flow is a number predicting how trustworthy a page is based on how trustworthy sites tend to link to trustworthy neighbors.

Trust flow is nothing but a metric that goes in conjunction with citation flow and has been developed by the guys at Majestic and I believe it is one of the metric that usually scares people away as Google has never mentioned it anywhere on their website. If you notice many of the publishers talking about this metric lately do not even have an idea as to what they are even doing. It's nothing but the power a link carries which you build during your link building efforts!

So, whenever you are building links make sure that you are matching your efforts with those of citation flow!
