Does programming knowledge help at all in e-commerce?

I'm a junior level React developer (can do most things but am slow) and am interested in possibly doing e-commerce one day for myself. Most marketing tools are available as plugins these days so I wanted to ask you guys who may have dabbled in one or both of these fields whether there's any carryover in terms of skillset. Do programmers have any advantages in modern e-commerce?

You need not to have even a basic programming knowledge to start an eCommerce business.
As we all know founder of Alibaba himself don't know anything about coding, But he have the biggest eCommerce site.
Try for prestashop and other eCommerce CMS , than you need not hire any web developer for initial phase but later on as complexion increases you can hire some.
