    Hi Friends,
    This practice is known as referral spam. It's basically fake referral traffic that is then recorded by your analytics package.

    The goal of the spambots is to get Google to treat these entries in your server logs and analytics as legitimate traffic and create backlinks to the offending website, thus boosting that site's SEO.

    It isn't known for certain if this even works, as I would imagine that Google's Algorithm is smart enough to catch this and wipe out any perceived benefits.

    You can prevent these entries in your analytics by creating filters that essentially ignore "visits" from these fake sources.
