    Hi,
    Not really. Your next project may be on a different platform, in a different language and ecosystem. And then what? I had a few weeks to get productive in embedded C, after years of web development. I have solid low level background, so it was not a big deal for me.

    You should get certified in the basic stuff. Computer science kinda stuff. University kinda stuff.

    Yes, if you already have a skill set and can demonstrate a high degree of knowledge, certificates can only strengthen your case for better prospects, higher income, and so on. Programmer credentials can be beneficial not just to companies, but also to customers.
