A subdomain is a second website, with its own unique content, but there is no new domain name.

Sub domains are basically new web addresses for different areas of your website. Every website has a sub domain name. In www.google.com, "www" is the sub domain. Sub domains are just before your domain name. Sub domains help you to server different regions, in franchises and serve different product lines.

Subdomains are a smaller part of a larger domain.

A subdomain is a space that is a piece of a bigger area; the main space that isn't likewise a subdomain is the root space. For instance, west.example.com and east.example.com are subdomains of the example.com space, which thus is a subdomain of the com top-level area (TLD).

While the sub domain provides further divisions and extensions for the domain name, which can be organized or classified according to organizational requirements such as sales.xyz.com
