Virtual hosting is a method for hosting multiple domain names (with separate handling of each name) on a single server (or pool of servers). This allows one server to share its resources, such as memory and processor cycles, without requiring all services provided to use the same host name.

VPS package is that you get complete root access to your environment. This way, if you need a custom software package installed, you can do so without having to wait for your hosting provider to support it.

The virtual private server is the happy medium between the two alternatives. The server is partitioned and your company is afforded an entire one of the partitions. However, since the server is partitioned, other users on the server do not affect you in the same way as they might on a shared server.
I can highly recommend Hostplay.com offshore vps hosting (http://www.Hostplay.com/) solutions (their server locations are Russia, Netherlands, Sweden and Luxembourg).
Good server up-time and speed connectivity. Their web hosting plans are feature-rich and the pricing is competitive.

Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting is like living in a simplex or half-plex where you can customize everything to your own tastes. However, you still need to maintain your own area. Companies that deal with resource heavy applications and secured data most often use VPS.
You can opt for VPS hosting in any of the following cases:
Expansion of your business beyond shared hosting level.
Expectation for a significant increase in traffic over the next few months.
Plans to work with confidential secured data in your business.
Intention to increase headcount which in turn requires a greater email capacity.
Plan to host multiple sites, blogs or different applications very soon.

I prefer to choose a VPS provider who's datacenter is geographically close to your target audience. Also a host that is fairly close to you, since you'll be the one accessing the VPS the most.
I know SolVPS.com (http://www.SolVPS.com/) is quite good. It has servers located in UK and US. New customers can get a great discount with coupon BESTVPSOFFER for 25% off for life.

A virtual private server (VPS) is the perfect solution when your business is so big that shared hosting is not enough and you need more server resources. VPS is actually a virtual machine that uses a normal or a cloud server, having dedicated server resources and custom software.

The three main advantages that come with VPS Hosting are:
Complete Isolation: Your VPS package and its applications remain unaffected irrespective of what another users does on the server
Root Access: This allows you to install any compatible application of your choice
Guaranteed Resources: Irrespective of any situation, the CPU, RAM, HDD and bandwidth that have been allocated to your package will always be available for your applications.

VPS can be used for hosting websites or hosting private backups.
You may choose a VPS over a dedicated server for its cost effectiveness. It is much more customizable than shared hosting so you may choose a VPS over shared hosting for this reason. They're also very scalable so you can scale resources when you need them and not pay for them when you don't.

There are several reasons for choosing VPS hosting, based on its benefits:
Zero Maintenance: You no longer have to maintain your server; the owner of the virtual server will be responsible for that.
Multiple VMs: These virtual servers can be “carved up” into more than one virtual machine, meaning that you can have multiple VMs on a single server or share your server with the data from other companies.
Stability: Unlike shared hosting, the traffic and activities of other VPS customers will not adversely affect your operation.
Performance: Having your own allotment of resources allows you and your visitors to enjoy faster load times.
Dedicated Resources: VPS hosting provides you with more disk space, CPU and RAM.
Flexibility: You have the freedom to choose the operating system and software you want to install on the server.
