Any content that is not informative, does not help the reader get the needed answers is not important to google. Imagine you have duplicate content in a book, will you read it a second time if you already know it and have already read it ?

Anyways your question can be understood in two ways, either of them are not a good SEO practice and will lead you to no where.

1. you have a very large page and some paragraphs are duplicate, meaning paragraph 1 is duplicate to paragraph 4 - to sum up - not good for google

2. you have copied some paragraphs from some other sites. There are niches in which you cannot invent new words or terms, lets say the medical niche, but still direct copy paste of the text is more than a negative signal to google that your site offers nothing but already known information and has no reason to be moved forward in the rankings.

hope this sheds some light
