Webkit is a web program rendering motor utilized by Safari and Chrome (among others, yet these are the famous ones). The - webkit prefix on CSS selectors are properties that lone this motor is planned to process, fundamentally the same as - moz properties.

Webkit is the html/css rendering engine used in Apple's Safari browser, and in Google's Chrome. css values prefixes with -webkit- are webkit-specific, they're usually CSS3 or other non-standardised features.

The term 'webkit' is used in the CSS syntax for rendering content in Safari and Chrome browsers. Webkit code may need to be added in CSS to ensure it renders correctly on Chrome and Safari due to the lack of cross-compatibility.
