Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks are a type of injection, in which malicious scripts are injected into otherwise benign and trusted web sites.Cross-site scripting attacks use known vulnerabilities in web-based applications, their servers, or the plug-in systems on which they rely.

Hi

Cross-site scripting technology is hacking in which a hacker injects some malicious javascript codes into some malicious activity or a weak website for stealing browser history or hijacking browser hijackers or application level sessions.

There are mainly 3 types of xss attack.

1. reflected Xss
2. store Xss
3. Dom Based Xss

Hope it helps you.

Cross-site scripting is a flaw that allows users to inject HTML or JavaScript code into a page enabling arbitrary input. There are two main variants of XSS, stored and reflected. Stored XSS allows an attacker to embed a malicious script into a vulnerable page, which is then executed when a victim views the page. Reflected cross-site scripting relies on a victim being socially engineered into clicking on a malicious link, sent via email for example.

Cross-site scripting (XSS) is a type of computer security vulnerability typically found in web applications. XSS enables attackers to inject client-side scripts into web pages viewed by other users. A cross-site scripting vulnerability may be used by attackers to bypass access controls such as the same-origin policy.

The remote web server hosts one or more cgi scripts that fail to
adequately sanitize request strings with malicious JavaScript. By
leveraging this issue, an attacker may be able to cause arbitrary HTML
and script code to be executed in a user's browser within the security
context of the affected site. These XSS vulnerabilities are likely to
be 'non-persistent' or 'reflected'.

Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks are a kind of injection, in which destructive manuscripts are infused into or else benign as well as relied on sites. XSS strikes occur when an attacker utilizes an internet application to send malicious code, usually in the form of an internet browser side script, to a various end user.

Cross-site scripting (XSS) is a type of malware attack that's executed by exploiting cross-site vulnerabilities on any WordPress site. In fact, it's the most common way for WordPress sites to be hacked because there are so many WordPress plugins that have XSS vulnerabilities
