Impressions are how many times your ad was shown.

Of course, not all the time user clicks on your ad. So, this parameter is important to see how many times he sees your ad.

Clicks - how many clicks it received.

The ratio impressions/clicks can show the efficiency of your ad campaign.

An impression is counted each time your ad is shown on a search result page or other site on the Google Network. Each time your ad appears on Google or the Google Network, it's counted as one impression.

The terms clicks and impressions are used in managing advertisements, impression means the viewer of that page has just seen the ad and has not clicked it, where as clicks means the visitor or viewer has also clicked the ad.
