I’ve been managing a client’s hosting for 6 months, and now he’s asking me to migrate his store to something more robust. The site in question is an online store specializing in Y2K fashion; it’s called Y2K Fusion, and honestly, traffic has skyrocketed since the start of the year... They’ve likely tripled their visits over the last two months, mainly from mobile devices, with quite a few spikes during promotional periods. The site runs on WooCommerce, has a fairly large catalog (hundreds of high-res photos of clothes and accessories), and the current shared hosting is clearly starting to show its limitations load times go through the roof as soon as there’s a bit of traffic. I’m considering a VPS or a dedicated cloud solution like Cloudways, but if anyone has experience managing this type of site (fashion e-commerce, lots of images, seasonal spikes), I’d love to hear some concrete feedback.
