IT Infrastructure Expert: How to Move from Troubleshooting to True Consulting?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working in web hosting for quite a few years now, and I’m getting more and more requests for audits and guidance on infrastructure choices (especially regarding billing optimization and automation). We often discuss the cost of VPS or licenses, but I’m having a hard time finding feedback on how to bill for your expertise rather than just your hardware. I’m a bit worried about undervaluing myself at first by keeping a vision that’s too technical instead of taking a truly strategic approach for my clients.
Has anyone here managed to make this shift? How do you manage your marketing so you’re no longer seen as mere service providers but as advisors?
